In Washington state, electric vehicles accounted for ~17.2% of all vehicles registered at the start of 2023. Within the state, King County has the highest percentage of electric vehicles, at 70,842 as of 6/22/23, which represents over 50% of the state’s EV market share. Seattle, Bellevue, and Redmond account for the lion’s share of EV registrations in King County, with Seattle accounting for 23,489 and Bellevue and Redmond together accounting for 11,924.

This raises the question of which EV brands are seeing strong demand in these markets, besides Tesla? In the EV full-size, traditional luxury sedan category, Audi A3 shows strength in the Seattle market.

In the EV mini-SUV category, the VW ID4 shines, quite literally! The other day, I had the privilege of seeing one up close and was tempted to get one myself. I love the look of the illuminated Volkswagen logo in the front and rear of the vehicle!
