After years of using a PC as my preferred type of machine (in an office environment), I recently decided that it would be beneficial to switch to a MAC. Not only will this enable me to take advantage of some great tools and applications on the MAC, it will also round out my skills and experience which has revolved around PC-based, Microsoft-centric apps. I’ve compiled a list of the most helpful tips below.
Tip #1 Use Cmd instead of the Windows Ctrl key
Tip #2 Launch AppFinder instead of Windows Explorer to view files on your machine (Warning: There are no drive letters!)
Tip #3 Use Fn + Delete instead of the Backspace key (FYI: The backspace key has no place on a MAC keyboard 🙂 )
Tip #4 Cmd + Tab instead of Alt + Tab (to alternate between windows)
Tip #5 Cmd + Spacebar to search for an app/content on your machine
Tip #6 Think TextEdit instead of Notepad
Tip #7 Install Firefox, which offers better functionality overall than Safari (FYI: IE is not supported on the MAC; interesting but not surprising!)
